Located within the North City Corporation of Dhaka, the Institute of Science and Information Technology stands as a pioneering engineering institute sanctioned by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). Established in 2000 with an initial focus on computer technology, Institute of Science and Information Technology has since expanded its educational horizons.

Currently, we facilitate educational endeavors across 400 seats spanning disciplines such as Computer, Electrical, Electronics, and Civil Technology. We are also a recognized study center for the School of Science and Technology (SST) of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), providing both instruction and examinations for the Diploma in Computer Science and Application courses.

Beyond academics, Institute of Science and Information Technology understands the importance of practical skills development. We offer a variety of free, non-credited programs like CCNA, MTCNA, RHCSA, IT Essentials, and Cyber Security to equip students with sought-after IT expertise. Upon successful completion, students receive certifications from renowned organizations like Cisco, Microsoft, MikroTik, and Red Hat, enhancing their employability.

Bangladesh is a small country in terms of size. But in terms of population, Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country in the world. The current (2024) population of Bangladesh is 174,701,211 which has increased by 1.01% from 2023. Today, more than 65 percent of our population is between the ages of 15 and 64. There are approximately 27 lakh educated unemployed youth in the country. If employment is not provided for them, they will be a big burden for the nation and society. In this age of science and technology, it is essential to create qualified and capable human resources. There is no doubt that there is a close relationship between the technical or vocational education system and the socio-economic development of a country. 

Technical education plays an important role in human resource development of any country. It builds a skilled workforce, increases productivity and helps improve people's quality of life. There is an excellent opportunity for employment at home and abroad for manpower with degrees and skills in technical and vocational subjects. Countries such as Germany, France, Japan and Sweden receive effective and extensive technical and vocational education and training.

Approximately 14 percent of students in Bangladesh receive technical and vocational education, much less than in developed and even some developing countries.The importance of technical education in Bangladesh has not yet reached a visible level. However, with the help of various donors, the government has taken several steps to modernize the existing TVET system. Parents and students need to change their mindset to prioritize technical subjects over general education.

In fact, current global developments point to an essential requirement for technical and vocational education and training. We carry out tripartite agreements with students and parents - with a 100% job guarantee for graduates.
